complaint about moderator

I must now also comment on the moderators.

It is unacceptable to first get upset about the image, then post another one, and later claim that it is not a mod: “It is a passive mod.”

(In other words, a mod.)

I pointed this out everywhere. My readers should read the text first.

Therefore, you can't just make an assertion.

Then there's the other statement that I shouldn't delete mods. That's an infringement of the mod author's personal rights.

Because I can delete whatever I want from my mods.

Hi there.

Your initial mod upload had an AI-generated cover image, which violated the mod rules. This was actioned by hiding your mod until you removed all AI-generated content. You instead deleted the mod and uploaded it again without an AI image, which does not let the moderators verify that the mod is in fact back in line with the rules. You have a history of this behaviour, which is why it was mentioned. In the future, there will be an update that prevents anyone from deleting a mod that is currently hidden by a moderator.

Your reupload appeared to not have an AI-generated image, which solved that particular rules violation. However, we received several reports complaining about the mod's content. Downloading the mod from Heliosphere resulted in a mod with no effect. All it had was a link to a page on Nvidia's website hidden inside a mod group called "Quelle". Due to this, your mod was hidden, as it is empty. This has happened to other mods from different creators in the past, as well.

Ultimately, our moderators have the final say as to what is or isn't allowed on the platform. If you have any policy clarification questions, I would be happy to answer them for you.

I wrote directly on the mod page itself that it is a passive mod, and nowhere does it say that you are not allowed to upload passive mods.

Note: This is a passive mod that serves only as a reference source and does not contain any executable files.
The URL can be copied via the “Edit.Mod” tab.

Here's the text again:
>
> Today, I'm putting together another passive plugin.
> Before anyone says that this is a useless plugin, let me say that it's about improvements in all areas, both for streamers and plugin developers, especially those involved in 3D editing.
> If you're not familiar with the add-on from Nvidia, you won't be able to use shadows or text glow in OBS, for example. This also applies to Xsplit and other streaming software. Furthermore, special AR add-ons from Nvidia have been developed for the 3D rendering function for various applications such as vTube and (CC) charter creators. An interesting side effect is that the display of FF XIV charters and glams is also improved.

> I only noticed this by chance because I usually use glowing fonts in my streams, and this was not displayed on my new PC (only normal font color). I thought something was broken. When I saw that Nvidia offers special add-ons for streaming, effects, and AR, and that it directly stated that it enables lighting effects in streams, I tried it right away—and it works. Since I'm also a Vtube creator, I immediately thought of AR. But I never would have thought that these things would have such a big impact on FF XIV.
> After entering my club, I immediately noticed the improved black levels and color values. Even better was that the color gradients were now displayed correctly, and clearly so.
> In the AR area, I noticed the improved skin texture and that the bodies are rendered differently by the graphics card, as are the faces.
> Glams are rendered more finely, as are air movements. That's why I think it's essential to share these things with you. Since websites can be lost quickly or you may forget where you found them, I've created a small inactive plugin so you can find it anytime in
> Penumbra under Downloads.

You are entitled to call your empty mod "passive", but the fact remains that it is completely empty. It has no effect. We are not interested in hosting non-functional mods. I did not think this would need to be stated in the rules, but I'll add a policy item about it tomorrow.

You could consider posting the Nvidia link on a site like Bluesky instead, as it is a better place for purely informational text.

Then the whole point of the mod is lost :/

And how are people supposed to find out about it if I post something on Bluesky when I have to upload it here at Heliosphere as a mod, which is a contradiction?
