Just adding this here for everyone who has complained about it but never suggested it (and for those who did suggest it but didn't post it here).

Absolutely zero idea how I would want to tackle this, but I know I would want it separate from the mods. One page for mods, one page (or multiple?) for non-mods.

I know for certain that I was probably one of those people that mentioned this. Just had no idea if HS had the support for that, and I also kept forgetting to take make an account here.

But all of that out of the way, I wouldn't mind separate web pages for posings, scalings, etc. Would it be possible to include resources (devkits, video guides, documents) as well? No worries if it can't be implemented at this time, but just curious as a resource-heavy person who likes to keep resources public.

maybe a Resources (?) section for things that are modding-adjacent but can't be packaged in a pmp or accompanied on a modpage with a pmp? like poses, reshade presets, (some) tutorials and creator assets. I have zero suggestions on how to organise it visually though :s

You can already upload extra files to mods: Edit > variants/versions > blue up arrow button on a version. Anything zipped can go there, so that's useful for devkits related to a specific mod. Separate pages for resources and whatnot are possible in the future. It just requires more thinking!

I need to make a note to remember that, but thank you for the reminder and also the reply!

Separating Mods and Resources into two separate categories rather than tags would probably be the best implementation as resources usually clutter up my search results on other platforms

For pose files specifically it would be nice if you could directly upload libraries of pose files separately under one page rather than archives full of them, this would also be nice for better previews in pose packs (such as having images per pose selection)

Also I know it would probably be a ton of dev work but a basic 3D preview of bone locations could really be nice (think dots and lines like vfxedit uses) 1748666952155.webp(vfxedit animpreview)

But poses in general would be an amazing boon to growing heliospheres userbase, i know allot of people who've admitted to not checking heliosphere because they like seeing poses as well

(also thank you for your amazing work)

realized my suggestion was included in this topic, oopsie. i also really like the idea of a resources tag for devkits and loose files :D

while i’m also scratching my head on how to implement poses and the like, would it be feasible to make a dedicated space on the forums for guides?

to throw in a couple extra cents, similar to what delta above mentions I have a bunch of resources/guides that don't really fit a typical mod format but I'd like to have in some kind of non-discord directory as well. extra files support makes a ton of sense for devkits and mod-specific resources and raw files, but leaves anything that doesn't fall under a ttmp2 or pmp in the lurch -- not that HS has to support housing things like this, i'm just lamenting a lack of any central hub for documentation and guides like

bumping this very belatedly to chime in that, with the current drive to move off XMA, poses are a huge gap left by heliosphere as an alternative. i'd like to stop relying on XMA as much as possible and i know a lot of people in this community feel the same, so i made an account on the forums to comment on exactly this issue and encourage revisiting the idea of a section of heliosphere for poses and other mod-adjacent resources.

bumping this in light of recent exodus from a certain site and people looking for homes. any chance of of a pose/resource section becoming available? perhaps just a section split from the plugin itself that requires a manual download

The idea is still clanking around inside my brain. It requires a massive duplication of efforts and code as it currently stands, so every time I start work on it, I end up getting frustrated and leaving it for another time. When I get a big motivation spurt, maybe some good progress can be made.

This feature is probably my #1, but I can't provide any sort of estimate. It will be a subsite separate from the mods portion of the site.

In the wake of the more recent wave of XMA exodus I can only bring my own support in favour of the idea too. I hope you manage to make it work and I know you can get through it Anna ! :)

since i haven't seen this mentioned yet, i'd also love to see a section for reshade/gshade presets. i'm a preset creator myself and i know that's the only thing that keeps me (and some other creators) tethered to XMA as a platform, because otherwise my options are nexus mods or ko-fi, which... isn't all that appealing. i'd love to be able to drop XMA entirely for heliosphere if i can.

Chiming in with my support, as an end user. I really hope you can figure it out Anna, because that place is so bad for my mental health and I would really love to leave it for good. But regardless, thank you for all the work you do with this site and your receptiveness to community input.

understandable, the communication and effort is appreciated! ❤️

Similar to the comments above, but just adding my support here! Looking forward to seeing what you cook! :D

hi anna, just wanted to add my overall support toward the addition of a resources section for things that don't fit neatly into the traditional pmp/ttmp format—poses, guides, gshade presets, loose files kits, etc!

i know this has been a big hurdle for you for a while, the way you've talked about it time and again, and i think we all super appreciate the openness and communication! i'm also really relieved to hear it'll be a separate section of the site from the mods themselves; it doesn't happen much on xma anymore, but i still remember the days when poses and certain other kinds of "not-exactly-standard mods" would get mislabeled into the wrong categories, and then using the filters and things would still leave confusing results in my searches. :'D being able to lessen the chances of that with two separate areas is a big relief to me!

i really hope you're able to find the breakthrough on this you've been looking for; i know it'd be so good for heliosphere and its community, both current and all the new users just waiting to move over once this feature is available! ❤

i’m wondering if sections of the forums could be made to host certain things instead, since they’re already here? particularly things like c+ scalers, which are just walls of copy-pasted text.

guides are already here, though a means by which to link guides on the forums to our main pages on helio would be grand since otherwise it’s difficult for people to know they’re here. since the first image included in a forum post is already considered the “preview” for the post, could there perhaps be some sort of hook from the forums to the main site (as an example, when you look at a person’s profile, categories can be separated by mods/guides/etc. based on who has posted where, using the same link setup that mod previews do, but linking here instead of a particular mod page on the main site)?

i’m reminded of older forums as well, where the media capable of being uploaded was far more expansive (namely being able to upload .zip files on forums, which is usually how things like poses and presets are packed). imo it would be a nice way to keep things separate while also integrating the forums into the helio community at large. idk how much more infrastructure this would take to build out vs. what you have planned currently, but hopefully some food for thought! 🙂↕️
